I learned over time that to focus on 4 things at the end of each day. 1. Did I connect with my wife. 2. Did I connect with my daughter. 3. Did I move my work forward. 4. Did I find time for myself to workout, to think, to find a moment of zen.
If I did, good day. If I didn’t, I could assess why and try to improve the next day. That’s been enough for me to find peace. Even if I do still have late nights after putting my daughter to bed. Sometimes I have a project I just can’t put down 🤷🏽
I like that time for yourself gets a place alongside family and work. And I can definitely relate to the project you can’t put down after bedtime 😅 Which of those four is hardest to make room for?

Finding time for myself is the hardest. Everything else has an external obligation of sorts.
